Thurlow Nunn Division 1 South

Coggeshall Town 2-0 NW London

Todd Hollocks 7' (Coggeshall Town)
James Long 41' (Coggeshall Town)

A long trip away for the Gorillas ended in a 0-2 loss to Coggeshall Town.

With their third game in eight days, NWL had to make changes, with Oleh Malyna and Hugo Javaloyes missing from the lineup. Okoko and Andeme came in to start the game.

It was a slow start for NWL as Coggeshall were highly motivated, looking to exploit space behind the defence at every opportunity.

Their persistence paid off when a tight offside call went their way, leading to a composed finish past debutant goalkeeper Moody Asif-Malik.

Coggeshall continued to threaten, forcing Asif-Malik into a couple of smart stops to prevent a second goal. Despite struggling against their opponents' energy, NWL still carved out a few big opportunities in the first half. Gul fired over from just six yards out, while Andeme's effort was well parried after good work from Gomes.

Just as NWL seemed to be growing into the game, Town struck again. They won possession in midfield and capitalised with a goal courtesy of a big deflection, doubling their lead before the break.

The second half saw a much more energetic display from the Gorillas, who dominated possession. However, Town still posed a threat on the counter, with Asif-Malik making key saves to keep NWL in the game.

NWL pushed forward in search of a goal, creating chances through wide deliveries, but Gul and Andeme were unable to convert. A strong defensive display from Town in the second half saw them see out the game, while NWL will regret their slow start—where Coggeshall took control and managed the game effectively.
