FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round

NW London 0-2 Wembley

Yashua Smith 10' (Wembley)
Nathan Osaji 45' (Wembley)

An early exit for NWL in the 1st qualifying round of the FA Vase.

An exciting contest on paper between two North West London clubs, never quite lived up to its billing in a fairly uneventful game.

Wembley took advantage early on as Emmanuel Okoko was dispossessed in his own box and Smith rounded Bullman for the opener in the 10th minute.

There were further chances for Wembley in the next 15 minutes as crosses into the box caused NWL problems.

The rest of the half was fairly uneventful before Emarjay Jones fired wide after beating his full back. Then came the key moment in the game as a Wembley break away, saw a sliding tackle play in Osaji for another Wembley goal just on the stroke of half time.

NWL came out with a lot more intent & went close, while looking more confident all over the pitch.

There were chances for Jones & Mohammed and Wembley created little in the second half but had a golden opportunity in the 59th minute to get a third which was volleyed wide.

In the end, a much changed NWL team never really got going and they will need to re-group after the FA Vase defeat when they return to League action against Basildon on Saturday.

NWL Line Up :
