Thurlow Nunn Division 1 South

NW London 2-2 May & Baker

Lucas Gonzalez 14' (NW London)
Bobby Titley 45' (May & Baker)
Jack Ferris 59' (May & Baker)
Lucas Gonzalez 90' (NW London)

An injury time header from Lucas Gonzales, ensured NWL managed to salvage a point against 5th placed May & Baker.

The Gorillas had gone into the game, without a win in the last four & against a May & Baker side going well in fifth position in the League.

It was a positive start by NWL with Lucas Gonzales low effort which didn't seem to have much power, slipped through the May & Baker GK's hands to present a 1-0 lead for the Gorillas.

May & Baker did start to grow into the game and were coming close, twice firing over once working the ball into the box.

NWL were shading the possession in the first half without threatening but the game changed on the stroke of half time as a slip by debutant Vasquez, allowed May & Baker through where Bobby Titley scored an open goal from a ball squad across.

The second half, continued in a similar fashion until Jack Ferris volleyed home in the 59th minute from just inside the box, after picking up a loose ball that had been crossed in

It seemed to have deflated the home side, facing another possible defeat but despite May & Baker having further chances on the counter, the Gorillas rallied in injury time, forcing a corner and then finding Gonzalez from the set piece to head home from 6 yards out.

It can be seen as a step in the right direction for NWL after a tough period of results and player availability.

The Gorillas now travel to FC Baresi, who sit just below them in the table in 18th.
