A thrilling game ended 3-2 to Cannons Wood and NWL will rue a great opportunity to secure their first 3 points of the season.

The start of the game was stunning from NWL, taking the lead and scoring a second, all within 15 minutes.

Hugo Javaloyes was the architect opening up the Woods defence twice, first playing in Mohammed Al-Nashi to power home and then providing for Damian Trycynzski, who slotted home to score his first competitive goal for the club.

NWL looked in control, however Woods started to edge their way back in the game and Easton finished off a low cross with a powerful finish to bring them back in the game.

Cannons Wood seized on their momentum and scored a second just before half-time with Odili looping a header over the oncoming Levchuk to bring a game level, that had seemed to be going only one way early on.

The second half, saw NWL start to take control again but the game was on a knife edge with both teams looking dangerous up top.

A controversial moment in the 60th minute saw Al-Nashi slide in on Odili and despite it being on the edge of the box, the referee ruled the contact inside for a Woods penalty, fired home from Thomas.

NWL piled on the pressure to equalise while Woods went close with NWL pushing numbers forward and Levchuk pulling off a few crucial stops.

The big talking point will be wether Bhebhe a second half NWL sub, did have his effort cross the line after a curling effort coming off the bar from outside the box. The NWL players were incensed along with the crowd in a tough call for the linesman.

The pressure continued with Woods camped defending in their box, but despite the bombardment, they held on to complete a comeback victory.
