In their best display of the season so far, NWL claimed their first home victory in emphatic fashion with a 4-1 win over Dunmow Town.
Despite NWL's sharp start, it was Dunmow who struck first. Eamon Payne headed home from a corner after just five minutes, putting the visitors on the scoresheet early. However, this did little to disrupt NWL's rhythm, as they quickly regained control of the match.
The equalizer came from Felipe Melgaco, who weaved through the Dunmow defense before unleashing a powerful shot from a tight angle to level the game for the Gorillas.
NWL continued to grow into the game, finding themselves in more advanced positions as the half progressed. After missing a few half-chances, Arianit Krasniqi latched onto a pinpoint long pass from Burcea and executed a clean lob over the goalkeeper to give NWL a well-deserved lead just before halftime.
The second half saw NWL shift up a gear, despite the warm conditions, maintaining high energy and applying relentless pressure on Dunmow. Their third goal came courtesy of captain James Allen, whose low drive from 30 yards proved too powerful for the diving Dunmow keeper to stop.
NWL weren't done yet. Aderibigbe's cross to the back post found Krasniqi once again, who headed home his second goal, putting the game out of reach.
With the score at 4-1, NWL remained in complete control and could have added more, creating further chances before calmly seeing out the game.
This resounding win, coupled with the easing of injuries and new players impressing, leaves NW London in a very positive place moving forward.
