Pre-Season Friendly
NW London 4-2 Eagles Town Cricklewood
In our last friendly before the League action begins, we took on Eagles Land Cricklewood of the Middlesex County Premier Division (Step 7).
On a humid afternoon with temperatures nearing 30 degrees, it began as a slower contest as expected.
We soon sprung into life with Lucas Gonzalez going close before a lofted ball from Juan Araque, sent new forward Ari Krasniqi though who finished with a delightful lob over the advancing Eagles Land keeper.
Despite not much action due to the slower pace, NWL raised their level and it was soon 2-0 as Okoko crossed in for Krasniqi to pass home his second off the post.
From then on, NWL looked increasingly dangerous and seemed to have stepped up a few gears with Eagles Land struggling, a third was added when Araque got his second assist of the game playing in Gonzalez to slide a finish home from 10 yards.
The half ended with NWL showing their dominance, but Eagles Land came out very determined in the second half, forcing home a first goal after a drive through the NWL defence and a powerful free-kick went through the hands of Vlad Levchuk to make it 3-2.
Despite many changes as you expect in a pre-season game, NWL held off a determined Eagles Land and added a fourth towards as Gonzalez intercepted a pass from the Eagles Land goalkeeper to lob home and clinch a 4-2 victory for NW London.
